Bloom
I've never participated in a book club, much less an online book club, so I'm excited to see how it will work. It just so happens that a friend of mine on Facebook recommended this book and the very week I ordered it, Angie announced she is using it as her first book for the new Bloom Book Club. You can order the book here on Amazon and the club begins next week. Join us!

What we're reading this week...
I didn't get an entry done yesterday. I was so sleepy from the past week, staying up way too late! I've become a night owl in the past couple of years and I have to literally make myself go to bed at a decent hour so the next day isn't painful and I didn't do a great job with this all last week. So, now I'm paying for it. I gave up caffeine a couple of months ago, so there's no hope in the coffee cup any more. I must be more disciplined!
The Bible verse for my kiddos this week is 2 Thessalonians 3:13: "Never tire of doing what is right." I think I could definitely learn from this one myself!
We are basically reading the same things we were reading last week. I'm still playing catch up with my daily Bible readings to get through the Bible in one year, so I'm not allowing myself to start a new novel until I'm caught up. I think I will be caught up in another week.
So, instead of giving you our reading selections, I thought I would list some blogs that I frequently, sometimes even daily, visit. Most of them are amazing stories of faith through difficulty and inspire me immensely. Some are just fun reading for me because they allow me to keep up with distant friends or are just fun to follow.
Please continue to pray for Baby Stellan. His button is on the sidebar of my blog. He is 5 months old and has been in the PICU for 16 days with heart trouble. The doctors are now going to try something different, which could involve life-flighting him to another hospital. Keep in mind, he is the baby of 4 children, so this family really needs prayers for Stellan's healing as well as keeping above water with the care of the rest of the family.
So, these might be fun for you to check out:

What we're reading this week...
Before I get started, please continue to pray for Baby Stellan. You can link to his story using the button on the right of my blog. Stellan had a rough day yesterday. Please call out to the Great Physician on Stellan's behalf for healing for his little heart.
I guess the song "Back in the Saddle Again" is relevant to our household today. Spring Break is over as we resume our daily routines. I love routine, but I also greatly appreciate the breaks and start counting down to the next one, which will be Good Friday for us... see, counting down already!
So, back to what we are reading...
I tried a new author over spring break and that small taste resulted in my heading over to Half Price Books and coming home with 8 more books by Jodi Picoult...wow, have you read any of her books? What an amazing storyteller! I read the book, "The Pact", which has a pretty serious subject matter, that being teen suicide. However, the suspenseful unfolding of the story had me up very late several nights in a row. I can't wait to read another one of Jodi's books. For now, I'm catching up on my daily Bible readings. I'm a few days (ok, weeks) behind, but am determined to do this, so I'm not reading anything else until I'm caught up.
So, on to what we're reading this week...

Jason's reading...
Emily's reading...
Emily is really enjoying the Narnia books. She's actually reading my books, which look like this image. She finished the first book and was ready to move on to the second immediately.

What we're reading this week...
So, back to blogging... I've been swamped with a new job and personal projects and just didn't have the time to think about blogging.
It is still very much winter here. Spring is beginning to creep in, however. Our bulbs are starting to sprout, birds are singing outside my window as I type, and occasionally, the temps will rise above 30. We are ready for spring, let me tell you. This winter has been pretty high maintenance...LOTS of snow! Lucky for us, we will get a break very soon from the cold when we board the plane to Texas! Yee-haw! (Thus, the new annoying background...)

What we're reading this week...
We had a heat wave yesterday and the temps rocketed to the 40's! It was so nice. We spent most of the day outside. Today, it's back in the 20's, and according to the Groundhog, we will have 6 more weeks of winter. Although, our days are getting longer, and this morning, I heard birds singing. I love the glimpse of what's to come that God gives us. Spring is not that far away! Woo hoo!
So, on to what we're reading this week. Jason raided the clearance aisle at Half Price Books and you will never guess what book he found here in Ohio for $1. Thanks to this find, it's opened my eyes to many Youtube videos as Jason's nostalgia has set in. My internal dialogue: grin and nod, grin and nod, grin and nod...

(Ok I have to write something here. I was absolutely not going to list this book as what I am reading, but it is such a good book, that I have to recommend it to all my married girlfriends.
This book has changed my perspective 100%!)

What we're reading this week...
Wow, it's been a while since I blogged. We have been sick in our house and still have one sick. Actually, she's sick again with something totally different. Needless to say, we haven't had a full night's sleep for at least two weeks, so I have not had the "with it"-ness to write. So, hopefully, I'm back on track this week.
This is what we're reading this week.

Jason and I are reading the Bible in chronological order in 2009.
Jason reads his excerpts on Bible Gateway
and I read mine using this version:

What we're reading this week...
I am a sucker for routine. Although, I like downtime and need it every once in a while, it's the return to routine that makes me feel on top of things. Today, we returned to routine; kids are in school, hubby at work and back to work for me, too.
I didn't get as much reading done as I wanted to over the holidays because with three kiddos home, I just don't get the quiet, uninterrupted time. But, we had plenty of time to play games, watch movies and even play in the snow.
Here's what we're reading this week...
Jason's reading...
(Jason and I are both reading through the Bible in one year, using a chronological Bible.)
My reading...
(Three books at once...a first for me!)
Emily's reading...
Ben's reading...
Abby's reading...
(We're reading this book alot! I'm hoping it will help!)

What we're reading this week...
I hope you had a nice Christmas. We enjoyed our Christmas this year. This was the first Christmas that we were not with any extended family, so there was a bit of sadness mixed in.

What we're reading this week...
Jason and I are still working on our books. I'm thinking I'm not going to keep going to Book 3. Book 1 in the series was great and Book 2 has gotten a bit out there for me. I'm ready for something different.
In pulling out the Christmas decorations, we brought out all our children's Christmas books. The kids have had a great time reading through them. Here are a few of our favorites:
