Website Wednesday is not going to happen today. I am sick and parked on the couch. It stinks to be sick with a two-year-old at home. We're watching the Doodlebops, though...woo hoo! So, I dozed off and woke up with this cute face looking at me. Fortunately, it was washable ink!

New Haircut...
Poor Abby (& poor Mommy) were tired of brushing through the tangles in Abby's long hair, so now she's sporting a new do...
Isn't she cute?
Diary of a Pine Cone
Our experiment is now complete! We ran the pine cone under water about 8 days ago. Within one hour, the pine cone was completely closed, every single scale. The pictures show the daily progress as the pine cone began to dry and the scales slowly opened.
Day 1:
Cold and wet...
Day 2:
Still pretty wet, but just a few scales
on the bottom are beginning to open...
Day 3:
Not much progress from day 2;
just a few more scales beginning to open...
Day 4:
More scales opening on the bottom and the rest of the scales
are not closed as tightly as the past few days...
Day 5:
Really seeing some progress here; scales are
opening on the bottom and top...
Day 6:
Wow! What a difference a day makes...
Day 7:
Almost completely dry...
Day 8:
Ta-da!
You, too, can try this experiment at home. No experience is necessary; just a willing pine cone and a patient observer!

Did you know...
...in Australia, voting is compulsory; if one does not vote and does not have a sufficient reason for failing to vote, a penalty is imposed?
...this election will make history in more ways than one; make sure you vote!

Know where you stand!
A friend of mine sent me the link for this Voters Guide. You can read more on the Wall Builders website. For now, please look this over and make sure you know where each candidate stands so you can, with a clear conscience, vote for the correct person tomorrow...
What we're reading this week...
Here's what we're reading this week! My book is excellent, but I have been so busy the past few weeks that I fall asleep as soon as I lay down and don't get much reading done!
Happy Reading!

Be a part of history!
History will be made in this election. Please vote! I hear so many people say that their vote doesn't really count, but it does! I wouldn't be surprised if records are broken this year at the polls with voter turnout. I'm kicking myself that I didn't vote early, because I'll now be one of the lucky ones standing in line with a 2-year-old in tow. But, that will not stop me! I just feel sorry for those around me who will experience the wait with me.
In the meantime, let's join together in prayer for this election. I found this prayer guide on a Houston news website of all places when googling presidential election prayer guide. Let's join together in prayer with words from Scripture as our foundation...
Prayer Guide for the Presidential Election
It is critical that Christians pray for the upoming presidential election. There is amazing power in united prayer. Please pray daily until the election. Pray with others whenever possible. The power of prayer can overcome any obstacle or ungodly influence and, indeed, do great things!
Psalm 32:6-7 - Pray that Christians will be motivated to pray faithfully for this election.
Psalm 16:7-8 - Pray that the Lord would give wise counsel and guidance to His choice for president in this campaign.
Proverbs 16:13 - Pray that our nation will listen to the truth and not be led astray.
Psalm 18:32-36 - Pray that the Lord would arm the man of His choice with strength; that He would guide him in battle (this election), and that He would sustain him and give him victory.
Hebrews 11:32-34 – Pray that God's man could, through faith, persevere and maintain his courage throughout this election.
Psalm 125 - Pray that those who trust in the Lord will not be shaken.
Psalm 86:14-17 - Pray that the Lord would defeat those who have no regard for Him in this election.
2 Cor. 12:9 – Pray that the Lord would empower and enable his man in any area of weakness.
2 Kings 13:16 - Pray that the Lord would put His hands on the man of His choice for president (and his team) and guide them in this election.
Proverbs 1:5-6 - Pray that God's man will listen with discernment, add to his knowledge, and receive wise counsel in this campaign.
John 16:33 - Pray that the man of God's choice would be given wisdom and ability from the Lord to overcome any obstacle or difficulty during this campaign.
Acts 17:30 - Pray for repentance for yourself and for our nation.
Luke 12:54-57 – Pray that God's man and our nation will be discerning and do what is right.
Phil. 4:13 - Pray that the Lord's choice for President will have special strength and unusual ability from God.
Habakkuk 1:5 and 3:2 - Pray that the Lord would do something that would utterly amaze us and give His servant victory.
"This way we can feel confident that whomever is elected...
it is God's will."
Let us pray...
