Emily has been taking Tae Kwon Do this year two days a week after school. Her joining was prompted by her parents and it took some time for her to decide that she might like it. Her sticking with it has been prompted by us as well, as there have been many days that she didn't want to go, but always enjoyed it once she was there.
Yesterday, she took her first test. The parents were invited to watch. Up to this point, Jason and I had not really seen what they were doing in class because we work during that time. So, not really knowing what to expect on testing day, we were blown away! Emily can count to 20 in Korean. All the commands from her instructor were given in Korean and she knew exactly what to do. For the past months, she's been practicing her form and technique and then she was able to put them into action as you will see in the video. She was so nervous about testing day...we've never seen her this nervous about anything!
Unfortunately, Jason was in a meeting, so I promised to film it. I'm so glad I did. She was so cute because every time she did a new move in her form, she would look at me. She wanted to make sure I saw all that she was doing and didn't miss a thing.
The video will speak for itself but let me just tell you...little Emily was walking alot taller yesterday when we finished testing...and she left with a yellow belt!
To say we are so proud is a major understatement.
Congrats Em!
